Pretty much. The main point is that Elohim (meaning gods or "powerful ones") was consistently mistranslated as "God". That explains why "God" appears to be a fucking murdering psychopath requiring blood sacrifices in the Old Testament. In fact it was the Elohim who were the psychopaths.
