The human brain cannot, ever, fully understand God (or plenty of other things, just as a blind-from-birth person cannot fully understand the colors green or red). We have to stretch our minds, imo, to get even a sense of the truth.
Here's Jesus on the subject of where God, or rather Heaven -- sometimes called the kingdom of god -- resides:
Luke: 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
I keep bringing that verse up because it has helped me overcome my childhood cynicism about religion generally -- and because it points out that (like His emphasis on compassion and love) Jesus' ministry was as much about THIS life as about anything after.
. . . one heart at a time, spreading love and compassion. And this all happens quietly, invisibly, without pomp or fanfare in the material world, until one day the whole earth will be filled
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Wonderful verse to remind us all of what is the true meaning of not just Christmas...but life!
Verse 7 is astonishing as well..."Of the INCREASE of His GOVERNMENT and PEACE there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth and even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."
Most Evangelical, 501c3 end times, Israel supporting, parrot Pastors have been teaching for decades this defeatist hogwash about the Bible prophesying a satanic controlled world government. For this reason many well meaning brothers and sisters have been waiting on the sidelines for a mythical rapture that will never come (unnecessary) and have been so, "heavenly minded they are no earthly good." This my frens is the main reason America is in the situation it's in...we can lay a good part of the blame on the American false pastors perpetuating Scofield Bible false doctrine!
To the Scofield Bible pastors, verse 7 begins after Jesus' second coming before the beginning of the 1,000 year reign. This is false. Jesus said Himself on the cross just before He willfully gave up His Spirit that..."It is finished!" The works of the evil one were rendered completely void and of none effect. When Jesus rose His body from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father, the keys to the kingdom(s) that were surrendered to satan by Adam were again placed in the hands of our Savior and that is exactly where they have been for the last 2,000 years! In addition God destroyed the old Noetic Covenant (the Law or Judaism) and implemented the perfect New Covenant of grace and salvation through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ!
To make this transition to the New Covenant perfectly clear for an observing world to see, He used the wicked Roman Empire (the beast of Revelation) that was spawned by satan himself to absolutely wipe Israel and Judaism off the map. All Christians should be required to study exactly what took place when Rome sacked Jerusalem in 70AD. It would clear up so much controversy about the this horrific End Times subject. Matthew 24, Daniel 9 and the ENTIRE Book of Revelation is about the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD and the institution of the New Covenant of grace.
These 2 verses in Isaiah show us demonstrably that Jesus took care of business 2,000 years ago and that the INCREASE of His government and peace there shall be no end. The Theocratic government of Jesus Christ and of His peace began when He reseated Himself on His throne after His resurrection. The problem in understanding the completeness and power of this event is that believers of every generation see world history from within the bubble of their own existence instead of trying to look at history from God's perspective...the 40,000 foot view.
If we look at history from God's perspective we see that indeed His proclamation found in Isaiah 9: 7 & 8 is coming to pass just as He said it would. From the 1st. Century Church until today, Christianity has been growing and moving forward and the message of Jesus is even stronger today that it ever was! In fact, if you look back at history, Christianity thrives more when the Church is persecuted the most!
Another thing to mention is that in America our flow of information is so controlled and propagandized that we have a difficult time seeing the amazing things God is doing around the world to further His kingdom on earth...although I think most people can sense America (the populace that makes up most of our nation as opposed to the wicked running our government) is wanting to have a closer relationship with Jesus.
The bottom line for those well meaning brothers and sisters caught in the net of Scofield's Biblical butchery, understand that there will NEVER be world government! God has never allowed this and He never will! Isaiah 9: 7 & 8 prove this! He may allow empires to arise and many have dominated some parts of the world, but so far they all have fallen because of their own evil!
Amen. Praise to our Savior, Jesus Christ the KING.

Yes! A important scripture fren!!
That's a beautiful image.
