Wasn't the oxygen it was the remsisivir. The drug made the vent useless.

I’ve heard about a nefarious plan to sequester all the oxygen on earth and thus kill off life for the baddies. Also we’ve got spraying happening in the atmosphere polluting the air massively- some even say with nanobots we then breathe in.
