Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way

Luke was a marvelous citizen journalist. (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%202&version=NIV)
Have a blessed day.
This is a great scripture. I know people say that Jesus was Jewish, and yes, he was, but he came to fulfill the law. To release the captives. And yes, he has been the rising and the falling of many in Israel!
It is not His will that any should perish.
When he died the curtain at the temple was rent asunder, signifying that the old order of judaic religion was finished.
Wrong. You are twisting scripture.
Hebrews 9 and 10 elaborate. The torn curtain = the torn flesh of Messiah.
We were once banned from God’s throne room (i.e. the Most Holy Place). Now, through Messiah’s blood we have free and open access.
God didn’t make His throne room obsolete. Quite the opposite in fact. He opened up the way and invited us in.
Wrong - you are misunderstanding what my point was. I agree - under the Old Covenant ONLY the High Priest of Israel was allowed behind the curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. And then he only went beyond the veil once a year. When Jesus was crucified, the veil in the last Temple (now no more) was rent from top to bottom, signifying that the Most Holy Place is, as you stated, "free and open". I NEVER said that we have been "banned from God's throne room". On the contrary we now have "free and open access". The Old Covenant with it's physical Temple and animal sacrifices was a type (shadow) of what was to come.
