GOP rep warns House has final say over election after states deem Trump ineligible for ballots
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) issued a warning to states moving to keep former President Trump off the presidential ballot, saying the House of Representatives has the final say over whether electors …
We see how that worked last time.
Came to say it
Massie has endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the GOP presidential primary, and in 2021 did not vote against certifying the election results from either Arizona or Pennsylvania AFTER THE MOB ATTACK…🤔
They werent supposed to certify the election. Otherwise we couldn't shine the light on the corruption. Russia vs Ukraine couldnt happen. All this flagrant money laundering. The border crisis. None of this could happen unless they let them play President. Many people play roles in this production. Some good guy parts some bad guy parts But they are all necessary to get to the Prestige of this magic act.
Nothing stops Trump from winning and re-entering the White House.
I sure am looking forward to this reality occuring.
He's referring to the electoral count. State legislatures have final authority over elections and it's enshrined in the Constitution. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artI-S4-C1-2/ALDE_00013577/
That is true, but CONgress gets to vote on accepting the results. I think what Massey is saying is if states try to use false methods to keep a candidate off the balllot the House reserves the right to not certify that state's electors. That of course assumes that the republicans maintain control of the house.
Agree
I think there might be a mechanism where the state would lose their electors and maybe even their representation before Jan 25. I read something about this but I can’t remember where and the details.
That's what should happen. Would laugh my ass off seeing communist shithole states not getting their electoral votes counted because they fucked around and found out.
And what happens the next time Democrats control the House? If they'll keep a candidate they don't like off the ballot in States they control do you think if you open that door to it they won't happily throw out electors from any State that went for a candidate they don't like?
