If a human was cloned, would it have a soul (whatever a soul is)?
What about if a zygote was separated into two clumps of cells, initiating identical twins. Would they both have shouls?
What if human stem cells are coaxed into a viable zygote and it's implanted in a mother's uterus and she carries it to term. Does that baby have a soul?
I don't have answers for these, as I can't even give the definition of a soul, not am I positive such a thing exists. But assuming a god or a supreme creator exists, would said creator even show life to be born without a soul?
Usually my brain shuns things like this it that it considers 'unanswerable'. But lately I've been trying to 'turn off my mind, relax, and float downstream' as every day I'm reminded that reality is not what our society and culture presents to us. We get a curated, censored, and altered version from authorities.
These are all good questions. Questions that God can answer if you sincerely ask. I know that there is a soul and a creator and He did design us to be in communion with Him. Whenever we allow other things to get in the way, he seems more distant, that is distractions which pull us away from Him. The more we commune with Him in prayer and His word, the more You can feel Him and it is in an active alive ‘Soul’
good questions, I like to ponder such things. like Q says, expand our thinking.🤖
and no, I don't think a clone would have a soul. it would be like the 'tares' from the parable of the wheat and the tares; an 'empty' copy.
as for the zygote. I think they might have the potential for the soul to enter, but it would depend on their DNA & parents. some think there is a God gene that is carried down. possibly why Q mentioned DNA?🤔 in case you haven't seen it, look at the Bill Gates, CIA briefing video where he explains a vaccine to get rid of religious fundamentalism...think that could mean Christians too, anyone who has a strong belief & connection to God. (some think it's 'not' BG in the video; I do. but it's still a good example)
and the stem cells sound like such manipulation, I doubt an advanced soul would want, or be able to integrate.
I think the body is basically an avatar, and to operate it, you need the right equipment which is determined by your DNA. I also tend to think the soul permanently enters late in pregnancy, or at birth. and until that time it's been determining whether it's a good fit for the avatar. And this would be why Jesus tells us not to be attached to the body or this life;)
