Let's see how this winter goes
Most of the EV's have heating pumps nowadays, assuming that one will work without issues for the entire lifespan of the car. Best case scenario will be like leaving a gas/diesel car idling 24x7 in terms of energy/fuel consumption. I.e not very cheap, and a huge waste of energy.
I'll keep my old gas car, it'll cold start just fine down to -20C.
Yeah, in my country it is cold as it hasn't been in years. My colleagues with their Teslas are awfully quiet right now. I know they have to make a choice, either freeze while driving, or reduce the milage substantially by turning on the heater.
I think (a little) about these people, when I board my gasoline driven car, and turn on the heat at max, while also enjoying the heaters in the seats and the steering wheel.
