Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
My fellow healthfags, I've got good news for my own personal health. Up until just over a year ago, I was eating granola and yogurt for breakfast and ate just regular foods. Then as of November 2022, I made a big switch and started eating greasy sausage, sunny-side-up eggs, and sliced king oyster mushrooms for breakfast. I also began refusing the rice for lunch at work (I'm a Japanfag). In October 2022 I was weighing about 196 pounds. By the end of December, I was down to 180!
Having learned on this forum that HDL/LDL cholesterol is fake and gay, I began disregarding all the crap we're told about stuff. For lunch I'd eat an avocado, a stalk of celery, and a yakitori skewer of roasted chicken skins. On a weekend if I ever did make french toast or pancakes for my daughter and myself, I started using butter instead of the damned safflower oil I had been using. In other words, my grease and fat intake went way up just over a year ago.
For August 2022, my triglyceride level was 159 mg/dl. In October 2023, It was less than HALF the amount, down to 73 mg/dl! My LDL (which is gay and IDGAF, but whatever) went from 186 mg/dl down to 157. It's still not in the "normal" range, but it had been 196 in 2021. In summer 2022 I was wasting my time with stupid-ass red yeast rice and got my LDL to lower by 10 points, but it was also hurting my health and causing inflammation.
So TL/DR: I lowered my triglycerides and LDL cholesterol by increasing my cholesterol intake. To hell with the Rockefeller Medicine paradigm! Thank you to people on here who helped me see the light, and who recommended "The Great Cholesterol Con" book written by Dr. Malcom Kendrick. It's a good book and he points out that even skinny Vegan fags get heart attacks, but I think the glaring point he doesn't realize is that it is seed oils that are causing heart attacks.
Congratulations Iโm so happy for you. Yeah I donโt follow any of the stupid Rockefeller medicine paradigm myself. Iโm full retard on natural health. ๐๐๐
For years I thought I had a gall bladder issue. I had gained weight, so I started some dieting that targeted carbs, I was worried the diet of meats and animal fats would flare it up, to my delight, I no longer had symptoms, and I noticed a lot of pain due to inflammation had almost ceased, it converted me. I cook with butter or olive oil, I eat grass fed animals. I still struggle with avoiding sugar altogether, at my age, a cookie can be heaven ( I dont drink alcohol, and somedays in this crazy world, you need to eat a cookie once in awhile!) I remember the first time I cooked up a rib eye in butter. It was like a first kiss.
I also recommend Ghee. Itโs one of my favorite High Point cooking fats. Food really taste good with it.
Really!
I've also discovered tallow and lard this past year, and sometimes work to make my own. Very good stuff.
What do you use your tallow to cook with? Do you cook meat in it, or eggs, or other fried vegetable dishes?
Welcome to the real science. This is what most people who start their journey into low-carb, IF or carnivore have started learning.
You gotta invert that food pyramid they teach us in school. The entire cholesterol fraud was started based on one study localized to a small area in Massachusetts, and boy did they milk that one to push seed oils, statins, get rid of healthy animal fat and set whole generations of people on lifelong dependancy on the pharmacies.
