The blood brain barrier is made up of cholesterol and the whole world is on cholesterol lowering drugs.
Cause and effect
Facts. It was probably this past November that I tossed my statins and my husband's too. I don't know if it's all in my head or suggestive programming but I've had a better memory ever since.
Good for you fren. Did the same 2-3 years ago. Think I noticed a difference within a couple of days. Much clearer after. Not taken them since and never will.
did you replace them with anything? (vitamins/supplements)
I do take vitamins. And in January I had blood work that showed everything was fine, maybe a little elevation but who invented "bad cholesterol"?
I'm SLOOOOWLY getting my memory back and it is a JOY to be able to think and say things and ACTUALLY listen to and participate in convo....WOWZA and OUTSTANDING ON THE RECOVERY!!!!!
Statins also lower calcium in the blood. The thing is calcium is needed for bones. Ever wonder why so many joint replacements? Indeed we need cholesterol for brain healt.
These 2 doctors talk about high cholesterol and statins... Statins can cause Alzheimer's symptoms when taken, but cognition improved when taken off statins and worsened when put back on them.
It's a long video (an hour & 16 min.) and good to watch but start at the 53:58 mark when they talk about how statins can cause Alzheimer symptoms.
