Honestly, in the sense Putin talked about trade between China and Russia, I could see the logic- he talked about balanced trade. In 2022, we had a ~370 Billion dollar trade deficit with China. In theory, with proper controls (tariffs on their goods in the USA equal or higher than tariffs on US goods into China, controls on price dumping, etc) I could see the logic in balanced trade - which in my mind would be was decreasing their imports by 370B or increasing US exports by the same number.
My hope would be decreasing their imports though. America needs to be self sufficient again.
If China would fix their businesses, and stop making cheap knockoff shit and dumping said shit on the American market then trade could be two way and good for both countries, but until they stop their government subsidizing and dirt cheap labor practices it is not in America's best interest to do business with them.
Trump's solution of taxing the hell out of their imported trash is the only way to level the playing field.
“Do Chinese businesses have small presence in the United States? Yes, the political decisions are such that they are trying to limit their cooperation with China,” Putin observed, according to a translation of his comments by the Kremlin. “It is to your own detriment, Mr Tucker, that you are limiting cooperation with China, you are hurting yourself. It is a delicate matter, and there are no silver bullet solutions, just as it is with the dollar.”
That gets a BIG RESOUNDING NO!!!! they have crippled this country enough.
Agree to disagree
