Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
22 episodes into the first season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.
She's 15.
He's 13 (as far as anyone in this world knows).
They're alone in a tent together.
She's wearing a black evening gown.
You can see where I'm going with this.
...I'm just going to come out and say it:
If it's eventually revealed that the author (who uses the pen name Rifujin-na Magonote, or "Unreasonable Back-Scratcher") is an actual pedophile, we can't say the signs weren't there.
my biggest qualm is, in that situation, what do you do? Just from a strict fictional perspective
Vow of celibacy til you are "legal" again?
but then it complicates things, most isekai worlds are more like ancient times, where 13/14 year olds did have adult relationships..so to conduct himself by 21st century norms in a might as well be 14th century world would be pretty absurd.
i am also quick to not assume western accusations against mangaka are ever correct. For example, Kohei Horikoshi of My Hero Academia fame, if you go by what social media, reddit, and mainstream news says it a racist, misogynist, pedophile who worships Hitler.
Truth be told, Japanese pedos who keep it 2d/virtual are way better than western pedos who do it for real. sad but true
That's reasonable, but you have to realize the other red flags I've pointed out in my other recaps.
This show has characters named Ghislaine and Sauros, for crying out loud.
And it hurts me to say all this, because this is a surprisingly good series. No, really, I find it so relatable.
But with all that Q has shown me, I had to share what I saw somehow.
At this point I'm a little surprised they haven't gone out of their way to have our main character introduce that world to pizza and hot dogs (as in the actual foods) yet. To say nothing of the massage scene.
