I hate to be a doom and gloomer, but why oh why do these Americans go down to these dangerous 3rd world nations where they have no rights and are not protected by American laws and the constitution and try to influence, convert, and interfere with these people's beliefs and lifestyle?
It is just too dangerous. There are plenty of Americans who could use this religious proselytizing, no need to go to the Cartel-operated jungles of Nicaragua.
Yeah, I see what your saying. I believe we have had some pretty amazing revivals right here in America recently as well ๐ I'm sure they are stirred by the Holy Spirit to share and reach these people in 3rd world nations, they need to hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ as well. Also, it is what we are called to do and we are warned that we will be persecuted for doing so ๐
Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, โAll authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.โ Amen.
Matthew 24:9
โThen they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My nameโs sake.
Matthew 5:10-12
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousnessโ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
I agree, the risk/benefit analysis doesn't add up for me as well. I would suggest people take the "start from home" and branch out approach.
I would hope people at least understand the risk of getting kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered before getting themselves into these kinds of situations.
God never ceases to amaze me๐ the message this morning message was from the CEO of Mission of Hope. His message was about how God called Abraham and He said, "Here I Am"

Wasn't part of the instructions to leave if the message was rejected?
Dust off your feet, but it wasn't rejected, multiple millions have come to Christ in Nicaragua. It's the government that has jailed them.
