Derek's a smart guy but hard to follow because he starts six new sentences without ever ending the first one...or sentences 2 thru 5. :)

My guess is, being a patriot he is silent when the fringes are there so as not to appear to be questioning or challenging Trump on the US flag in any way.

It could totally be that the fringe does have some actual meaning that only people on the inside really know, like Trump, and if so, we may find out some day what it is...or maybe not. It could be something totally beyond the theories already advanced.

Note the states where fringes were on the flags and where they weren't -look to state laws that are also set in incorporation
