Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
The following is an article Titled, "Where's My Adderall? Stubborn Drug Shortage Spurs Federal Inquiry, As Founders FretFor entrepreneurs who rely on ADHD medication--brand-name and generic alike--to help them focus, supply chain shortages and rising prices could negatively impact their ability to perform."
It gives a link to where you can make a comment to the regulations about this topic.

As the country's shortage of prescription drugs drags on, the federal government is looking for answers. Specifically: Where are all the (typically) less-expensive generics--from cancer medications to Adderall-like stimulants for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)?
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) on Wednesday sent a joint request to pharmaceutical companies and group purchasing organizations, or GPOs, in an effort to get to the bottom of the shortages.
Pump up kids on sugar and drug em to calm down. I can’t understand how parents can do this. I’m guilty of giving sugar but luckily my daughter didn’t care about it or soft drinks. I was clueless to the sugar in everything, even deli meats, sausage, bologna, hot dogs. It’s been an eye opener since being carnivore. I want a hot dog so bad and can’t find sugar free.
Kenny Wallace a former Nascar driver is an energetic guy, what I call a live wire. He’s hilarious to me but it’s his personality or ADHD. I don’t believe that’s a real thing. Just made up to make money on parents. We all have different personalities and energy levels. Sure bipolar is real but I think it’s caused by trauma. Anyway back in late 90s I was watching interview with Kenny. He said his mom put him on meds as recommended by doc. She took him off, said it took away her boy. She loved him and even his energy. That’s a smart mama!
Great. So they have 30% of the population addicted to a synthetic methamphetamine, and then they cut them off. ⁉️
Exactly what I was saying. I was telling my husband that that is probably why there are so many shootings.
Also, I was saying that they get people drugged up and then take it away so they can go crazy.
My son is on the spectrum, and he had mild tourettes that hit hard in 4th grade, adhd etc. There were suggestions to use these meds, my sister really pushed, telling me some family members used it on their son, my boys cousin. I told her that having academic drive was not a priority, that I knew my boy was intelligent and he learned things in his own way, independently. His tics went away with added Vitamin B, he takes magnesium at night for his life long insomnia (from in the womb, the child wakes up at bedtime). Instead of changing him, I taught him to adapt. Can't sleep at night? Find a night job. Find an interest and pursue it. Use caffeine, stay away from sugars, artificial colors, (he would turn into a pinball when he was little if he ate anything with red dye in it) There is nothing under God's green Earth that God created that will not heal you if you search for it. I did not let him use a screen until he was almost 12, and I wish I had held off longer, as he is addicted to gaming and most of his social life is on line, although he does have a group of locals around his age , that get together and do Dand D once a week. He did not have vaccines, so I am not sure what caused the adhd and spectrum stuff. Sometimes I think it is a gift, sometimes a burden for him. He does thank me sometimes for not putting him on meds. He is a good man, strong and kind and wonderful with animals, large and small, and he is beginning to show interest in growing food, finally! I taught him everything I know, and as I age, I worried that all this work on the gardens I have done over the years, building soil, etc would go to waste after I die and he inherits it, but I think he will turn around with that. He does make his own money and he will spend it on crap food sometimes, but when eating like that affects his mood, I can point it out and he realizes, mom was right. He despises all things woke and has a great sense of humor about it.
You are doing awesome! I am ADHD, Dyslexic, BiPolar, and whatever else that paper says. My son, who is 23, is also. He did not have many friends in High School, and of course, he was a Senior in 2020, which did not help matters much.
I KNOW that ADHD etc.. is a gift. "We Think Differently" which I really believe is the Correct way. I have told my son recently that he is a gift from God. That he was born for a time such as now. He is meant for great things. After I told him that, he started looking up God and reading the Bible.
I have not put my son on any medications. He did not get the shot. I, on the other hand have been on many many many medications because I grew up feeling very different. But, I realized in the past 6 years that that is a very good thing. I understand th things that people do not understand. I see things that others don't. I quit alcohol, drugs, meds, and am currently just taking Aminos and my thyroid meds, but looking to get off of those.
My child is my greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I always remind myself that my God thinks of me even more than that.
Love your testimony! Your son was lucky to have a mom using her wits.
👏👏👏 especially psych meds
