I have DRS shares in a standard brokerage account (after tax), but I also have a bunch through a 401k Brokerage account that I'm allowed to invest how I like.
Do the 401k brokerage accounts usually let you DRS those shares also?
I believe it is possible through certain brokers. I don’t have a direct answer, however if you research ‘DRS IRA GME’ or similar, you’ll turn up some results. I think there was a walkthrough by some GME (game-stop) folks someplace.
The walkthrough had some paperwork hoops to jump through for sure, but I believe it was legal/ doable.
We already found out that it's pretty much impossible to DRS shares in an IRA without spending thousands to set up an LLC. The Mainstar Trust debacle taught us that.
Here's a dumb question:

Not a dumb question at all.
