Have any of you tried to start wifi calling? I'm an AT&T customer as well. No cell service and when I try to start Wi-Fi calling I keep getting the 502-Bad Gateway msg. Curious to se if anyone else is also having that issue.
If you didn't have Wi-Fi calling enabled before the outage, you will not be able to activate it until the service is restored. E911 stuff requires you to provide a 911 address to the carrier.
Seems defeatist to have have that option but then not be allowed to use it in the event the cell service is AFU. That was the whole point behind having Wi-Fi calling in the first place
I live in the country with poor cell tower coverage which kept dropping my phone calls. I called AT&T (my wireless carrier) and had to request they unlock wifi calling on my phones (wife and myself). This was about 2 years ago and calls work great now when I am at home. Call AT&T and tell them you have bad coverage. There is a setting as I recall to change on your phone, but they still need to do something on their end to make it work.

I have wifi calling turned on and couldn’t call another device on the same wifi.
