Except that we don't get our rights from the constitution, and we should be glad for that. If the government is giving us our rights then it would be reasonable to assume they could take them away. The constitution is a set of protections of our natural rights.
Perhaps it gave too much leeway to the judicial branch (e.g. SCOTUS rulings) to legislate from the bench. The Constitution was not supposed to be reinterpreted for the purpose of making law.
