Wow, so if I lived in EU I'd be shit out of luck on repairs with my 2005 Toyota Tundra with 90K miles, or my 2010 4Runner with 95K miles. (Miles wise I don't think ether one of off Warranty)
And don't worry, the Muslims or Russians will soon control the EU.
If Muslims, my truck would probably be confiscated to use as RPG mobiles, and the flippin Russians will work on anything.
Yes. I know about parts. My neighbor actually told me which vehicles to purchase so we will have parts. Our friends from church have to wait 3.5 months for parts in order to fix a Subaru.
This needs some nuance: I'm reading from several sources that it seems to be about older cars where the repairs would cost more than the value of the car itself.
That's what we are doing here in the Midwest. Neighbor trade things now. I provide medicines and information in trade for mechanical. Of course food always help.
Theyve been trying that in the US for a while now. "Right to repair" they tried going after the ability to do the computer diagnostics first. They wanted to make it sonly the dealers can scan the vehicles. It didnt work out too well for them.
In the US,playing with antique and classic car is in our dna. Good luck taking that from us.
Im a mechanic.one of if not the best in my area. I have tons of parts for my 2 classic cars. As long as i can get gas,i can keep then running and driving for many years.
I am finding out that in the Midwest, there's many people who are very mechanical. Came from NW and they all specialized in one thing and don't know how to do much else.
Just happened to know quite a few here who would be able to help. I am not mechanical so I will trade.
I was lucky when i was younger. I met all kinds of people who did all kinds of things. I can build a house from start to finish. I can operate heavy equipment. I can cut, weld and fabricate metals. There really isnt much that i cant do.

Toyota 4x4's are designed to last 30 years in isolated places.
My Corolla will expire for working by next year. Good thing I have my neighbor who is a certified mechanic. He will do that for me. LOL
Don't forget PARTS, no parts no fix.

They are cruising for a bruising.
LOL. They are showing their true color. Which will be black and bruise.
Won't fly here. We'll pay cash or exchange here.
Your neighbours can watch what you do and dob on you!
FBI will have mechanics just there to sting you!
Even if you so much as adjust your 15+ year old mirror, it can be deemed "repairs" and off you go to the gulag!
What you talking about? My neighbor will be my mechanic. LOL

Not sure what the exact story here is though.
I advise all younger frens to learn basic mechanical skills if you don't already have them. And get some basic tools.
In the right conditions, it can literally save your life, but most of the time it will just save you money.
I learn medical skills. Mechanical, oh well, too late now.
It would be cool if there was some way for frens to do basic skill exchanges.
Someone once said "specialization is for insects" and there is some truth in that.

Wow. Jack of all trade.
Yup. A dieing breed.
LOL. True.
Slaves, you will only say, do, drive, eat, think, what we tell you too. SUBMIT!!!
LOL. No.
It won't go through. You think the farmer uprising was something, you haven't seen anything yet.
U.S will be the last stand just like Covid.
