Can you list some alternatives bc the ones I know are just as bad??
My husband got us Consumer Cellular which is a lot cheaper. We use a cell phone for a land line in our house. We save three times what ATT cost us. And I used ATT all my life. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole now. Also got my internet through EnergyNet from our electric company. Hope this helps. If that doesn't work for you, try Patriots Mobile.
I'm going through the switch right now, just need to call customer service to complete. Thank you for all the info!
You're mighty welcome.
Can you explain what you mean about using a cell phone for a land line? Do you mean you just no longer use a land line, or is there something more to this? Thanks.
I no longer have a land line, but my husband bought 2 cell phones, one for himself, and one to leave at home where our land line stayed. My daughter lives behind us and there are times she doesn't have a phone, so she uses ours. So one cell phone has become our sort of land line.
I see. Alright, thanks for explaining.
Lots of people cancel their land lines and use cell phones instead.
Oh, I know. I've never even had one. I was just trying to figure out if that's what she meant or if there was some sort of technology that allowed one to hook a cell phone into the old landline jacks.
Guess which company’s cell towers are used by Consumer Cellular? Hint: Starts with an ‘A”.
Yes, but I'm not paying them directly and I don't have to call and complain to them either. As long as I"M not personally doing business with them, I'm fine. Most all of the cell towers are used by ATT. There's no way around it unless you buy a Satellite phone which I don't have the money to buy.
To be fair, I also switched from AT&T to Consumer cellular. Saved $100 a month. $1,200 a year is a lot of money.
