That would be metal, concrete, stone, or tile, you know, non-combustable roofs. There is a reason insurance companies give you a discount for have an all masonry structure.
username checks out (;
That sparked an idea I had then forgot - with all the tech advancements it is amazing to me nobody has created fire-proof lacquer to coat your frame and fire-proof drywall. So I went and looked and there are options available. Perhaps we should start building homes with that stuff??
I built out of poured concrete (ICF). My roof is steel, so is my siding. It won't rot. No insects eat it. Very fire resistant. Extremely durable. And it has great thermal mass to buffer fall and spring when days are warm and nights are cool.
And if it hails, you get a music show!
CACOPHONY OF SOUNDS...wowza!!!!
I built a steel framed home with steel girders/columns and had 5 different types of insurance companies looking at the house when it was going up because I was using COMMERCIAL CONTRACTORS AND NOT RESIDENTIAL CONTRACTORS...blew their damn minds..AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!
House Insurance was a lot less than the rest!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
