Just disrespectful. It's like putting your sweating can of Coke and ice cube-filled glass down on the bare wood without a coaster on a beautifully maintained expensive antique dining table that was a gift from your spouse's family and meant to be handed down to the great, great grandchildren. Or walking with dirty shoes over a priceless Persian rug in pristine condition while you are guests at a fancy dinner party that your neighbors kindly invited you to.
Just shabby, low class and disrespectful!
The Resolute Desk -
The desk was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes in 1880 and was built from the oak timbers of the British Arctic exploration ship HMS Resolute.

Ugh, a rug you can't walk on? Just about the dumbest thing you could ever waste money on. Using coasters, absolutely.
I mean, I get it. But feet on a desk is just something I can't get riled over.
Not with dirty shoes!
