Oh didn't pence say he really couldn't do that? I didn't Congress change the law so nobody ever could, because pence lied?

This was muddied. Pence could have and the progress had already started. Trump literally could have won that day. However the democrats/DS stopped the process with their fedserection. Nancy put the Congress into emergency session and took the power away from Pence.

The procedure for selecting the president is established by the Constitution. In order to change it, there must be a Constitutional amendment---which didn't happen. This is a case of a legislative attempt to supersede the Constitution. I don't think it has proper standing. If Pence had the power under the Constitution, he still would have the power under the Constitution.
