Wait. Full stop. The "Iron Beam" system you're referring to is a ground-based laser-based air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems in Israel. Unlike traditional missile systems like the Iron Dome, Iron Beam is designed to intercept and destroy short-range threats such as rockets, artillery, and drones using a directed energy weapon, specifically a high-energy laser.
This beam isn't green, and doesn't work in orbit. The system is not deployed at a large scale and only prototypes exist right now. They want to get the system up to 300 kW.
And there's what drives mods nuts. Because a few blue cars and blue roofs in Maui were spared by the fire we have to deal with this looney and unscientific garbage.
The point is that directed energy weapons as a technology exists.
As I said in my post, and basically every other on this subject, I don't believe the use case described (using it as a large scale weapon, presumably via satellite?) but there seems to be a lot of discussion flat out saying that they don't exist and that's just not true.
We know they exist. But they aren't sharing their use or capabilities with us. We can't provide sauce because they won't give it to us. The government is not going to admit they attacked the USA on 9/11 or Maui. They kill people to keep the sauce. We must use evidence, logic, plausibility, discernment and common sense.
That's why discussion is necessary. Many people here have different skill sets and specific knowledge that can help put the puzzle together in a logical, plausible way.

Wait. Sure, they exist. But leaving at just that is absolutely not good enough, tho. Not that I'm having a major fight with you, but, the term "Directed Energy Weapons" is so broad that we could be talking about a phaser or a Death Star.
I'm not sure why people are down voting you, we're having a pretty calm conversation I think. I guess people are more emotional on this point right now.
But anyway, directed energy weapons at their core, and in reality, are lasers -- and that tends to be what most people are usually envisioning that, though of course there are still people who envision the literal Hammer of Dawn from Gears of War or bolts of lightning from a Zeus-like device.
But I have been monitoring the discussion for a long time as many places as I can, and people shut down the use of "DEWs" as a "baseless conspiracy theory / right wing conspiracy theory / etc."
So, on that basis it becomes a bit vexing when it's been a full decade since the likes of Iron Beam have been integrated, and even consumer lasers on the high end can start major fires if care is not taken.
Oh well though, I'm not really even who the OP is targeted at since I would be slow 100% of the time with any given post due to how hectic my days get.

Do you ever get tired of shilling against all unapproved topics?
