Behavior towards him during the funeral.
The way the media turned on him hardcore after Iraq (think Colbert, Daily Show, legacy media attacks). I think he botched a bigger operation they had in mind.
The way everyone attacked him for blocking stem cell research (Cheney, Nancy Reagan, legacy media again).
He just didn't feel like a willing participant in the My Pet Goat incantation.
