To be fair, the Empire State Building is closer to the size of the ship that knocked the bridge down. It will definitely take a minute or two to lay down a1.6 mile long bridge.
they only need to replace the peer and rebuild a half a mile of bridge. Politics and unions will cause the delay (as usual). It took 5 years to build the entire bridge back in the 70's... I'm betting the first delay will be a new environMental impact study.
Typical bullshit to prime the public for the bend over level costs. Simple example, Los Angeles - Post earthquake. Freeway bridges rebuilt in record time. All it takes is cost incentives for the contractor. They were talking the same for interstate 10 in downtown LA post fire recently. They were stating it would take years to complete. The entire westbound lanes were shut down. Low and behold, a few weeks later and it's not in the news and traffic is flowing.
Contractors who have the ability, make bank under these conditions.
The Army Corps of Engineers could rebuild it in 6 months using most of the existing structure. Large sections of the bridge fell in the water. Reusing those large sections would result in a quicker rebuild.
If this was Japan, that bridge wreckage would be cleared in 3 weeks, construction start one week after, and the new bridge open to the public in under 12 months. Not even being sarcastic. This is how it would be done.
It took 5 years when first built in the 1970's. It will not take but 2 years if DJT is in the Oval, and he will not use Chinese workers. There's the steel which D's have no idea how to orginate/get to the site. LOL!
come on, man! they have this vast army of manuel workers here now, should be done in two weeks! kek.
I see what you did there!

A replacement of that type of bridge with its simple construction should take less than a year.
Now this is a bridge:

Maybe we can contract out the Chinese to do it
Chinese Company built Ca Bay Bridge and it has had structural problems. Chinese steel. https://www.americanmanufacturing.org/blog/dang-the-chinese-made-bay-bridge-continues-to-fall-apart/
I was joking, of course.
I'm wondering just how much better we are, though. If at all.
Puh-leeeeze do not rec. or use Chinese anything.
No OSHA back then. However, I do agree it should not take years.
The longer it takes the more money goes "missing"
Make sure to use Chinese steel made from melted-down rental cars and hire only the best dei applicants
So...a hole to pour money in?
"Years," eh? In other words, the Deep State has its own reasons for wanting the Key Bridge out of commission for as long as possible.
wasn't the Pentagon less than a year?
16 months... Still the world's largest office building

The roadstead will be cleared within months.
Rebuilding the bridge is another matter.
Both are federal jurisdiction.
stop trying so hard to miss the point, mmmm k?
