The stattes is where this or ANY issue properly belongs. In our Federalist Republican form of government, that's how it should be.
For a nation that supposedly places God first…we let man decide if murder is ok. States shouldn’t get the right to decide when it’s right to kill a child. There are laws…God’s law, then man’s pathetic attempt at laws. I pray for the strength of Christians to be able to stand firmly, and make the right decisions based on God’s laws. Pretty much nonexistent tho. Trump should stand for innocence, and not pull a Reagan, kicking the can down the road. Winning huh?
Cyberhawk, there's neither a man nor woman on this board who would disagree with your stance on abortion. We all find it abhorrent.
But there are times to take a stand and there are other times where playing the long game, the incrementalism game, the SMART game is the way to go.
President Trump taking a stand now might make you happy, but it will result in:
-Single issue voters on the fence moving to Biden. -Single issue voters who are disgusted with Biden but were going to stay on the couch this November now leaping off their couch to go vote AGAINST DJT. -This makes the vote close enough for them to steal it again. -Perhaps even worse, Republicans everywhere are dragged down by that Stand nationally and at the state level.
And most importantly, the result would be even more open access to abortion during all three terms. Absolute barbarism is the result of that Stand.
Nobody ever won a war (and that's exactly what this is) by being "right" or "just". It always helps but wars are won by being smart, tactical and winning a lot of battles. We won a big battle when Roe V Wade was thrown out.
So now we all have an opportunity to win a small battle every day by using PERSUATION and working with our local reps instead of unaccountable federal reps. We make incremental progress until we reach a day where the culture has changed, where women don't get abortions and "unwanted" babies are born and go to loving homes instead.
But we only get there by being smart.
And you’re playing games with the lives of children. You’re playing games with evil itself. Satan rules this world as a prince. You won’t win games with him. We can only act with God’s laws in mind. That means say what you know is right. Repeat what has been written. How can people follow what’s right when we play games? God doesn’t play games. Neither should those who claim to follow Him. Think of all those in the Bible who trusted God. It’s called keeping the faith. We spout that daily on these forums, yet when times get desperate we immediately go into “this is the smart way”. Nothing faithful about that. People need to stop pretending. It’s an ugly side. Stop killing children. Easy.
The hubris you people speak with is galling. It's as though you believe you have some exclusive ownership on righteousness.
"Stop killing children. Easy."
It's incredibly easy to prophesize to the converted. You risk nothing, you accomplish nothing. If it was so easy, you would have accomplished your goal via platitudes. What have you accomplished so far, Cyberhawk? In my lifetime, I've convinced at least three women to not get an abortion and then a fourth whose baby my wife and I eventually adopted.
I've donated my time for free for 15 years to the largest pro-life organization in my state. During that time I've met with and continue to meet with state leaders to keep moving the needle in my state.
What have you accomplished beyond self-aggrandization?
Now if you don't mind, the rest of us will get to work on actually doing something about the problem. When the day arrives that we fix it, no need to thank us.
