everything has continually gotten more expensive since i was born
In order for it to go down it would have to be a negative number.
They trick the public by saying, for example, "inflation decreased from 3.4% to 3.3%" and people think it's improving. No, it did not decrease at all, it INCREASED another 3.3% on top of the (cumulative) previous amount.
Not this fast
As a point of irony the two presidents that I've saved money under over time have been Bush (2nd term) and Trump.
Everything was universally more expensive under everyone else.
