I am sharing this article because I believe it has merit as a treatment for MCAS. Although I do not have MCAS, I have been allergic to many things in my life. In my late teens I had dermatographias...broke out in hives due to emotional stress. I took an antihistamine, then a fast acting tranquilizer, Atarax, but eventually solved the issue by taking high dose B complex after reading the book, Body, Mind and the B Vitamins.
I am allergic to poison oak/ivy and I have had an anaphylactic reaction to a fire ant bite. I use Rhus Tox for the poison oak/ivy and I use Apis for fire ant bites or bee stings or any bite that causes swelling (fleas, no see ums, mosquitoes etc.). I have been bitten by fire ants since, but I neutralize the toxin by dabbing bleach on the bites and using Apis instead of Rhus Tox, which I used incorrectly because it itched. Both homeopathics are VERY effective. I also use Basil essential oil to stop the itch of insect bites.
I also had cold hives where I broke out in hives from cold weather or even a change in weather. I used the homeopathic Natrum Mur to successfully treat that. I also have a homeopathic Histaminum that I successfully use if I itch or break out.
I am also allergic to the sun...it sounds weird but it is a real thing. I would break out in an itchy rash if I was in direct sunlight too long. What helped that immensely was correcting my Vitamin D levels. I started out at about 25 ng/mL which is extremely deficient. I am now up to 70 ng/mL and I am able to condition myself early in the season to acclimate to the sun...don't need hats, etc, or even sunscreen and I tan and am able to stay outside just fine.
I share all this to show the effectiveness of homeopathics in many different allergy scenarios. I no longer suffer from these allergic states but I do avoid poison oak/ivy and I credit the Vitamin D for a lot of it. I take 10,000 IUs daily with a Super K which must be taken with D. There is some medical literature on D and MCAS so there is a connection. I also take a B complex in the 100-150 mg. range with some in mcg., but I like a balanced formula. This is for the nervous system among many other things.
Don't discount homeopathics because you don't know about them. I am 72, unvaxxed, on no medication and quite healthy considering some of these weird things I have experienced and overcome. There is always hope and you may find cures in the strangest places. The Lord has ALWAYS provided me with whatever information I needed. God bless your friend and may He reveal what is needed.
Also, Dr. Makis is suggesting 72 hour water fasting to cure long covid symptoms and there is literature suggesting a connection with long covid and MCAS and POTS. There is a lot of interesting information that he has put out about overcoming the side effects of the vax with fasting...definitely should check him out on X or anywhere else he posts...the info is out there...you just have to find it and experiment...

This is a good article on homeopathics that can be used for oral lichen planus. You would be able to buy these at Vitamin Shoppe or Swanson online. I do not know if you are knowledgable about homeopathics, but I can give further instructions on how to choose the right remedy and how to use if you are so inclined.
This is from Evidence Based Essential Oil Therapy by Dr. Scott A. Johnson
Oral - Take a capsule filled with 3 drops each of vetiver, frankincense, lavender and spruce, and 1 drop of clove, morning and evening. Take an additional capsule with 3 drops each of clove, oregano, lemon, cinnamon, and 1 drop of eucalyptus and melalaleuca (tea tree), once midday. For oral lichen planus, add 1 drop each of clove, melaleuca and oregano to half a cup of water and 1 teaspoon of aloe vera, and then swish, gargle, and swallow up to 3 times daily.
Topical - For lichen planus that affects the skin, apply 1-2 drops each of frankincense, lavender and melaleuca in 1 teaspoon of aloe vera to the affected area as often as needed.
You can buy capsules online and you can buy essential oils at Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy which carries Swiss Aromatics or through Plant Therapy, which Dr. Tisserand consults with or through Tropical Traditions which carries Florihana oils from France...just be careful with cinnamon or clove oil...it is strong.
I also noticed that something that triggers the oral lichen planus is mercury fillings. I had mine removed many years ago and replaced with composite fillings...something to consider...there are so many things that can make us sick...again good luck researching and evaluating any info I share...always do your own research. I am sure holding colloidal silver in your mouth then swallowing would also be beneficial...there are just so many great things to utilize.
I had never heard of this so I did a cursory search online to find out what it is and surprisingly there are some great testimonies for natural cures.
For oral health in general I suggest pulling with an organic coconut oil. Swish 1 teaspoon coconut oil in your mouth for 15-20 minutes. Spit it out in the garbage and rinse your mouth with warm saltwater. You can read all about coconut pulling online. You may add essential oils to your coconut oil...suggestions are clove, tea tree, thieves blend, eucalyptus...I don't know if you know anything about EO's but you would need further instruction. Apparently Aloe Vera is also very therapeutic with great healing and soothing properties. You can rinse and take internally...both are helpful. I recommend Georges.

This is a great article by Dr. Axe that covers a lot of information and suggestions. I can look up additional treatments but I am not at home and that is where my resource books are.
I also saw that low levels of folate and vitamin D are mentioned. You can take 100-150 mg. B complex that would be helpful. Test your vitamin D levels...it should be in the 70 ng/mL range. I maintain mine at 70 by taking NOW 10,000 IU daily with a Life Extension Super K. This is one of the best improvements I have made in my health regimen.
Any other thoughts or questions let me know...I am not a doctor but I certainly enjoy studying alternative treatment of diseases...good luck with however you choose to proceed. I will add additional resources when I get home.

Excellent information. I have a family member is in a homeopathy academy now, fascinating scientific studies presented.
Fantastic...been involved with homeopathics for 45 years...very beneficial to know about this alternative valid area of study...
I've followed your posts with interest over the last couple of years. Have you any suggestions for oral lichen planus?
