Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Thanks, I haven’t heard of this brand and will check it out. I’ve been taking Ancestral Supplements liver over a year. Off and on the past four years my hair was falling out from handfuls to just a few strands. I stopped the supplement two weeks ago because I’ve been eating carnivore for four months. Figured I was getting enough nutrients from the meat and would test to see if I needed liver supplements. (I’m post menopausal) Well yes I need them! My hair started falling out again.
To be fair this is the only liver suppliment I've tried, but damn it feels good! Carnivore is my goal, pizzas and burritos are hindering it though :/
I totally understand! I have been not 100% carnivore every day. Also there are different versions of carnivore. I personally think it’s what works best for the individual. There’s some good videos on YouTube by doctors and ordinary people that have changed their eating habits. I love watching Dr Anthony Chaffee, however he’s 100% beef only. He says every time he’s tried plants, even coffee he gets terrible pain and inflammation. Dr Ken Berry has several videos. Of course make up your own food observations as to who is legit and just making videos for money. My husband has lost 35 pounds since 12/27/24. I’ve lost 25 but I’m up and down so it’s probably more like 20. We have had pizza a few times for a local Italian owned restaurant. Had Mexican maybe there times. Also had some desserts like cake, brownies & muffins. Every time he goes off track he might gain two pounds and down right after he’s back to carnivore. I guess my hormones and taking NSAID or Tylenol has not helped. I read anytime you take even one pill of medication you gain weight. We travel out of town at least once a month and it’s hard to stay 100% strict for those three days. One person on advice video said focus on getting healthy and not weight loss or gain. Because your body goes through changes cutting out plants and processed foods. I have turned into a coffee drinker which isn’t 100%, more dirty carnivore. In the past I probably had five cups of coffee in a year. I add butter and non toxic full fat creamer. Yeah, butter crazy but so good. It’s not for everyone! Cheating has allowed me to figure out what foods irritate me.
