Background:
A few weeks ago, an actual woman had her gym membership terminated because she took a picture of a mentally ill man invading the womens locker room so he could shave the stubble off of his face.
At the time, Planet Fitness went along with the wild assumption that this man was in fact somehow actually a woman, based on nothing more than the words coming out of his mouth.
More recently, a different man (who also claims to be a woman) was minding his own business by invading the womens locker room at Planet Fitness, but instead of appeasing the mans delusions and expecting all the actual woman just deal with it, Planet Fitness unilaterally and arbitrarily decided that this man wasn’t actually a woman, and had him arrested on felony charges!
We need to pressure Planet Fitness to clarify their policy. Either they allow users to use the locker room that corresponds to their self-diagnosed gender, or they don’t.
How can trans people have any confidence they wont be arrested if they are simply using the locker room of their choice?

A few months ago, I stopped by Lifetime Fitness to pick up some vitamins for my wife. I brought her Membership Photo ID with me.
Staff stopped me at the front desk and asked for my membership card. I handed them my wife's card. They looked at the photo, and said this isn't YOU. Even though the photo looks nothing like me, I claimed it IS me. I said "I've changed since that photo was taken... and YOU aren't allowed to ask me these questions".
The staff looked at each other, then one went to get a manager. The manager came, looked at the membership card photo and looked at me... and said "Welcome, Mrs. #%^^&&&". I then walked by the staff and got what I came for.
It's a ridiculous world out there.
I’m honestly shocked that they wouldn’t have just assumed you were running errands for your Wife or a female family member and let you through.
That’s generally the default assumption for stores in my local area. Occasionally They’ll call and confirm with whoever your picking up for. Or ask for further identification like your family member/spouse’s birthday or phone number. Usually that’s only if it’s a particularly high dollar item being picked up. Or a prescription.
But for the most part your left to do your business in peace. Without unnecessary hassle
I could have explained to the staff, or even gotten her on the phone.
It's much more fun to claim that I am the one in the photograph. Even though that photo clearly isn't me, and there is zero resemblance... still, they aren't allowed to question my "transition". :>) Otherwise, they are being intolerant.
