Would they do that for any of us? I hate this for Trump but this is the country we live in. America just doesn’t give a crap. It’s citizens are treated like criminals, maybe worse actually.
It’s like this intersection my son could’ve been killed in, when he got T boned by a car that blew through two stop signs. I find out afterwards by the insurance company, 9 outta 10 wrecks in that city happen in the exact same spot. The city is never gonna correct this problem. All it needs is a “loop around” made of concrete. Where your vehicle has to go to the right about 20 feet then turn left to cross the double lane and continue straight. You blow through this you’ll be missing an axle as you fly through the air a few feet. It will never be fixed until…some rich or mayors daughter gets killed. Then it will be fixed. And that’s coming from the insurance agent. We “lesser than” don’t matter.
If Trump wants to know what Americas have to deal with in a daily basis, this situation is part of that treatment. Change it? Is that possible? Bottom line is this sucks. We have to deal with it. Trump is for the people, and he’s being treated like it. It’s why people feel his pain. We’re treated like crap to!
OK, but it is a win-win situation. Would the school like to have a former US president attend one of their graduations? It is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities.
As for T-boning at known bad intersections I did that once. I was in the outside lane following a truck on the inside lane when someone in a side road decided he could make it out in front of the truck. I could not see him and he could not see me. He did make it out in front of the truck but that left him right in my path!
The police who showed up said it was a known accident spot. Thankfully, some years later, the junction was improved.
Our intersection problem has been there for a few decades, around 30 yrs maybe, at this point. My son was just another statistic. Luckily he survived. He’ll carry the scars on his left side, arm, etc for the rest of his life. Hospital said he looked like he’s been in a motorcycle accident. The accident did teach him a very important lesson about never trusting any other driver on road. Keeping a sharp eye. Which did come into play a few yrs later. Riding with his brother(other son) last year, he was able to spot an oncoming driver that caught his attention. He warned his brother to start stopping, slowing down, and sure enough, the other vehicle ran right through a off ramp into 4 way section that he was supposed to stop at. Was still a close call, but would’ve been real bad otherwise. I feel God taught him a lesson that may have already saved others.
It is surprising what you can tell about other drivers from all kinds of clues. Their position on the road, how erratically they move about, how closely they follow the vehicle in front etc.
