Those at the top are pocketing the money, whether the government agencies the businesses or both. More oversight is needed by the financial officers. After all it is the taxpayers’ monies, not the personal finances of those approving the purchases.
They talked about this in the movie “Independence Day.” You didn't think they actually spent ten thousand dollars for a hammer and thirty thousand for a toilet seat, did you?
Of course, the character was referring to how the government paid for Area 51, but the point was still made.
It's all money laundering. This has been going on for decades and we laughed at it like idiots. Remember the 25k toilet seats and 1000k hammers? They've been doing this right in front of our faces and like trained chimps we laughed at it.
The 89,900 dollar over price goes to Black Projects. A toothbrush cost 500 bucks, a toilet cost 7000 bucks----get real, CIA gets the overcharge. If we know all the black projects going on it would blow your brain up. Lockheed gets BILLIONS of unaccounted dollars for hidden projects. Where did the Pentagon loose 2 trillion dollars they couldn't account for? How about a dozen Bio Labs in Ukraine and a hundred others around the world that Congress didn't fund but can't say anything against it because they are blackmailed to keep their mouth shut. This country has been lost for over a hundred years and most are just finding out about it!
Oh, but that's a very special bag of bushings. It costs $9 in materials, $50 in labor, $1 in packaging, $10 in shipping, $30,000 for the military retirement fund, $30,000 for military retreats and the rest goes back to the politicians who approved the defense bill.
At this point, it is all lost. I have no hope for the current system. Just trying to see how it will be rebuilt and how they're going to destroy this fraudulent babylonian satan-owned system
TBF, you can't just put hardware-store parts on an aircraft, and especially not a military aircraft.
There's the cost of writing, maintaining, approving and revising the specifications.
The parts have to be inspected and tested throughout the manufacturing process, and the materials and machining records maintained for full traceability in case there's a problem. The materials themselves are very specific, and even if inexpensive, the cost of certifying that the materials comply adds significant cost.
Now, $90k seems excessive, to be sure, but the difference between realistic and corruption/grift/incompetence is likely something less than the $89,900 implied in this comparison.

Cost of the bushings: $100
Cost of pocketing the politicians: $89900
Exposing this to the public: Priceless
Not surprised, this is endemic in every institution.

Wall Street Bushings. That sounds about right.
