Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Part of the draw of the springs is the minerals in the water. I wonder if you can put those in a hot tub ... probably not, I'd think they'd just build up in the pump etc.
So Strawberry is big nice one up by Steamboat Springs - I think they actually do divert/clean it daily as the water obviously isn't hot enough to disinfect if people can get in it. It's a series of pools from hot to warm so you can move around if you get too hot or cool.
There's a couple others (Hot Sulphur is on the way to Steamboat, there's another somewhere SW of Denver) that I need to investigate. There's a close one west on I-70 that is basically junk, and some bigger developed ones (like with concrete pools) further west that I've avoided as crowded.
Thanks for the info. I’ll check them out. I saw a resort in Arizona set up like this, several large pools with out gators😀 I wasn’t looking for it, been searching hotels and resorts on East Coast beaches and now algorithm is pushing everything to me. I’ve discovered I don’t want to pay resort prices. Even a hotel like holiday inn is crazy expensive. Will probably do some day trips and maybe a long weekend in the fall to get cheaper rates.
There’s therapeutic products you can put in a hot tub it’s more aromatherapy than minerals. I would be fine with getting in a hot spring pool setting because it’s constantly flowing water. I don’t get in public hot tubs. If the ph is off you can get little pimple like bumps, I forgot the name, it’s like a staff infection. I’ve had them in my hot tub if water was off. Wearing swimsuits washed in detergent will mess up water. I’m very rural nobody around so always went in bday suit only at night.
Heh, Strawberry is 18+/clothing optional after dark IIRC/if they are still doing it (probably).
I’m not following, not sure what you are talking about.
