The rules of spirituality can never be changed. Negative energies were designed to destroy everything around them and in the end themselves. They will also attack other negative energies. Only way to change is to drop the negative energies and accept positive energies that promote well being for all. There are only two choices.
Manly P Hall suggests containing the negative energy so that it will consume itself. If one attacks the negative energy, then one feeds it and the karmic cycle keeps going.
