I picked Bulger because of the similarity of his cruelty to Manson’s. Also, Oswald and Ray probably never fired a shot.

That's one of the best reads for sure.
I learned something from the prosecutor that wrote Helter Skelter (Vincent Bugliosi). He spoon fed the jury so much circumstantial evidence they couldn't ignore Manson's influence over his followers. Relates a little to current statements that correlation doesn't necessarily mean causation. Sometimes the circumstantial evidence is so overwhelming there can be no other consideration as to what the causation would be.
I remember reading Helter Skelter as a HS freshman and none of it was making sense even back in the late 80's. They were trying to brainwash someone with that book, and I wasn't one of them.
In order to see through the BS, are we all genetically different and able to piece together the bits of truth into a bigger picture?
That book is not the best one to read about Manson, The Family by the poet Ed Sanders is much more informative.

It basically paints the picture that pretty Much All serial killers appear to be patsies for recorded/tapd ritual killings group.
The patsy enables all killings to fall onto one crazy loon, instead of the group of people ritual murdering people and recording the snuff films. The patsy "serial killer" enables judges and detectives to make the biggest case of their career. Often there Is minimal physical evidence used to tie all the murders to one person but it sure is good housekeeping to keep all the missing persons cases down
Does the media play a role in this whole serial killer propaganda? Well thats the only place you first hear about serial murderers. Does the news pump out the serial killer propaganda to provide cover for ritual murder group?
Does Hollywood glorify these killings as work of one person in TV shows and movies?
Sacrifice one to save the rest.
