❓ Question of the Day ❓
What is the favorite concert that you’ve attended?
My favorite concert was About 17 years ago, at the Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix, Arizona.
Headliners were - Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and System of a Down. I went with my husband and my daughter, stepson, and my brother-in-law. We drove two separate vehicles. We bought pit tickets & seats within the first 10 rows. My husband got completely drunk - and his brother pretty much took care of him for the day. Me and the kids spent time in the mosh pit and rocking out - and ended up, driving home together, because Aaron was out of control as usual 🤷♀️
Despite the difficulties of the day, it was the best concert I have ever attended! Three of my favorite bands at the time altogether in one venue! Because I was in the mosh pit, I was able to get some kick ass pictures. I made a huge frame with pictures of Avenged Sevenfold and me and the kids. I still have it somewhere packed away. A few years later, my husband died at the age of 30. Long story….
RIP AARON 🙏🙏🙏
Out of everything I have seen probably the best time was when Axl Rose stubbed his toe and canceled G'n'R's arena gig. Soundgarden was opening and suddenly had nothing to do so they booked a show at the much smaller venue they played at several times before. We had to wait in subzero temps for like five hours and when we got inside it was so warm and luxurious. Then they played for three + hours.
I have only ever been to two concerts in my lifetime. Both were Van Halen. The first one was at Desert Sky Pavilion in 1993 with Sammy Hagar and then we saw them again in 2012 at US Airways center with David Lee Roth.
i really liked metallica, primus and muse. primus i was actually against the stage, it was glorious.
RIP to your hubby, fren.
I know you have an extensive concert history. Thanks for sharing the many different types of music that you enjoy.
Mosh Pit? Is that different from other Pit area of a concert. I think it’s people jumping and slamming into each other. Then again I’m really not sure. I’m very curious about different concert experiences. I’ve always wanted to see Kid Rock, hubby says I don’t want to be with the kid fans. Little bit rougher characters than I could handle🤷🏻♀️ The most that happens in a country music concert pit is people getting drunk and fighting. They are sent out very quickly. I’ve seen artists stop the show to get the fighters taken out. The other bad thing in the pit is people get right up on you. Especially women. They have been right on my but/heels. When that happened I started dancing and stomping my feet with boots on. After I did a quick push with my but on them and stomped on the feet I didn’t have any issues🤣 Most people have been super nice. It’s a select few that do things like push their beer cups and food trash up under your feet. I would turn around and put it under their feet. Then you get the people that come in thirty minutes before the show trying to squeeze in to the front row. This entire experience helped my daughter become tough and not take crap off of people. The great thing is you bond with the people that waited in line hours before doors opened and we held the line on the front row. We have made great friends at concerts and still friends today.
I went through a very dark time in my life. We’re all I did was go to heavy metal concerts, and I was just an angry human being. I would go to these concerts and I would stand at the outer circle of the mosh pit, and when people would get shoved around - when they get to the edges, you’re supposed to push them back in.
Well - that’s what I did. I shove them back in, and I shoved them hard! 😂😂
I never got hurt, though, and as a woman I think that’s pretty rare for that type of environment. Looking back I think God was protecting me because I was pretty volatile at that time.
I was the cool mom that took my daughter and all her friends to the heavy-metal concerts. We had so much fun.
Oh gosh I know that’s not for me. I would not like that even back in my teens. Country concert pits are tame compared to that.
I went to Metallica and the mosh pit was too much for me. The nearby marine corps base cranked it up to 11. 🤣
Marines tend to do that. 😂😂😂
Sounds like an experience you won’t forget! Standing in front of the speakers can really get to you, depending on the artist. At Eric Church concert my entire body was vibrating. He has the most speakers of anyone I’ve seen. When Chris Stapleton was just getting started playing the bigger venues they hadn’t quite figured out the speakers. When he started singing it was such a crazy thing. Huge vibrations and a little hard on the ears. Once they were halfway through the first song it was normal. After half the tour they figured it out. Standing at the stage and a lifetime of loud music is probably why my ears ring constantly.
There’s so many artists and different types of music I’ve never heard of, including the ones you listed. Sounds like a great time😀 What’s a concert with out a few drunks? IDK, I’ve never experienced one. The worst was a drunk girl spilling beer all over me and my hip hurt so bad the next day because I kept ramming my hip into her pushing her off of me. We saw them at several Miranda Lambert concerts and followed on social media. She was a very sweet girl until she was drunk, still nice but out of control.
Oh I don’t know if I can pick a favorite concert.
Funniest: Jimmy Buffett, huge bucket list and to top it off it free, won them on the radio.
Most exited: Kenny Chesney in the pit, Charlotte Panthers football stadium. His shows are very fun. Other than Buffett, his fans are the most into it than any other I’ve attended. We had floor seats that I paid way too much for. The radio station was there and we entered the ticket upgrade contest. My daughter won sandbar tickets. Kenny has two separate areas for stadium pit tickets. The one closest to the stage is more expensive and other section along the T part of stage that sticks out is the sandbar. In 2012 those tickets were very hard to get and about four times more expensive than other tickets. His shows sold out in minutes back then. Anyway it was one of the top five concert experiences for me. Also a huge learning experience about being in the pit. It was the one and only time I wasn’t front row in the pit.
Most energetic and rocking: Eric Church, several times and always awesome. Country music but more like a rock concert.
Most emotional: Almost there years we saw Chris Stapleton in multiple states. It was like coming home. They knew us, not really but we were recognized. Because we had a dog my husband went with my daughter or I did. They were three day concert trips. I lost count I think I went to about 27 concerts. One concert they gave my daughter the top of the drum and signed it. She & my meet them a few times back stage. Not planned it just happened.
Favorite of all time: Miranda Lambert! She is very fun and you can tell she loves music. From writing to performing. She’s about the only one I would pay the ridiculous prices of today.
I could go on & on, I’ve been very blessed sharing these experiences with my daughter for about five years going to local and out of state concerts. Fun times but most importantly getting to know my daughter as an adult and friend. Haven’t been since weekend before shutdown 2020. Ticket prices have doubled and some almost tripled. Decided to put our money on other adventures.
