From the Daily Sceptic... Matthew 24:9 is coming true: you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake...

"Muslim candidates and elected representatives… need make no excuses for their personal faith. To criticise a Muslim, or any other minority, for the illiberal tenets of their faith would be prejudicial. But Christians? They’re fair game."
Re read my post. You said they cannot answer prayers and I told you they intercede. What, you don’t believe people can successfully pray for you? You didn’t answer.
There's one mediator between man and God, Jesus Christ.
Don't you catholics pray to dead saints on all saints day to borrow some of their good works from the treasury of merit to lessen your time in purgatory?
I haven't read that in scripture, where would I find it?

Like Jesus, the Saints are alive in heaven. We can ask them to take our prayers to God. People on great awakening ask for other people to pray for them all the time. Where do you think the idea of intercessory prayer comes from?
The argument the catholics make is the saints are alive in heaven, so we can pray to them and ask them to intercede. We still believe Christ is the only mediator but there are verses in the Bible where believers pray FOR other believers. So the saints are still alive in the body of Christ so we can pray TO them asking things just as if they are alive on earth.
This paragraph is in the article;
"Some Christians–most Protestants, in fact–deny that the Bible gives support for devotion to the saints, but they are incorrect. The Bible encourages Christians to approach the saints in heaven, just as they approach God the Father and Jesus Christ the Lord: “But you have approached Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and myriads of angels, and the assembly and church of the firstborn who have been enrolled in heaven, and God the judge of all, and spirits of righteous ones who have been made perfect, and Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and the sprinkled blood which speaks better than that of Abel” (Heb. 12:22-24)."
Where in that passage does it say to pray to saints? It says there are saints in heaven but doesn't say pray to them
A little later the author of the article explains each sentence then jumps to the conclusion "This passage is saying that, just as Christians approach the angels, God the judge, Jesus Christ, and his saving blood, so also must we approach the saints in heaven."
No it doesn't say that! Study Heb 12:22-24 and point it out to me as I can't see it saying that.
*In fact I challenge you to show me the verses in the Bible explicitly saying to pray to saints.
I have just searched the Bible for every time the word 'prayer' was used and DID NOT FIND PRAYING TO SAINTS ONCE, there was prayers to God, pray for yourself, prayer for others but not prayers asking for things from the saints. ALL PRAYER IS DIRECTED TO GOD*
Prove it with the Bible not with the tradition of the elders.
The author began the article saying we don't pray to idols because we know they are only made of wood and are just objects unlike those idolaters.
The hindus also know the wooden idols are worthless, many of them carved them themselves, if we ask them why are you praying to wood they will say No, we are praying to the spirits that these idols represent.
The author wants us to believe idolaters only pray to the physical inanimate objects when that is completely false. And frankly a dishonest argument to try to distance themselves from other idolaters.
I got you a very detailed one that should leave no room for misunderstanding https://media.ascensionpress.com/2019/07/01/sharing-communion-with-the-saints-life-in-the-new-covenant/
