Looks like a railroad was taken out, not the automobile bridge from the pics. I need to read the full article for more context.

Everything that gets offloaded on and off barges probably. Raw materials such as gravel, sand, oil, etc.
The railroad tracks looked incomplete, like it was an abandoned railway.
Possibly. Though there seemed to be tracks that fell onto the ship. Maybe that was AI generated, just wondering if the train carried product to or from the island. Do shipping lanes drop off on the island & then trains take product where it is needed/requested? If that was the case, I would expect 2-3 side by side tracks at the very least
