Allow me to sum up:
If it walks like a demon and it talks like a demon, it's a demon.

I have never seen someone fight gravity and lose that badly. Except for George Soros's undereye bags.
From what I've read elsewhere the Vatican is tired of people wasting the churches time by reporting instances they think are supernatural and wanting investigations. They blame the internet for this and so they had to put their foot down and tell the churches to stop taking time away from other duties to focus on "supernatural" pursuits.
So this is their rules of what they consider worthy of the church's involvement and if it doesn't fall into these guidelines tell 'em to call Ghostbusters.
That's strange. The Vatican's entire claim to existence is based on the Supernatural, or the spiritual realm.
Now they want to establish "rules" for whether or not the Supernatural is available in other flavors?
Who is to say that other people's Supernatural beliefs are even more valid than the Vatican's? Or that there can't be multiple levels of Supernatural happening at the same time... which are just not visible to non-believers?
In my opinion, the Vatican can shove it! Supernatural forces are what they are... even if the Vatican declares otherwise.
The Vatican wants to be the "smoke and mirrors" police.
The main idea that I took from a quick first reading was expediency as well as authority. Phenomenon would be reported and the bishop of the diocese could put it in one of 6 categories and the matter would be settled quickly. The pope was given the authority to declare phenomenon as either supernatural or not, bypassing all other preceding formalities. My first thought: Revelation 13:11-14 (NKJV) 11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
There is actual a historical rational as to why they are the authority on demonic possession and exorcism
Father Gabriele Amorth (a catholic exorcist) was convinced that many in the Vatican were possessed by demons. He wrote about it in his books.
It has less to do with what they want people to believe and more to do with whether or not it's any of their business.
They drew a line in the sand saying "demons? - that's our business. Jinn? not our business."
Jesus Christ paid for all of our sins and gives us the authority to cast out demons, heal the sick. But Vatican wants us to think we're powerless and only THEY can do anything.
Matthew 7:21 I Never Knew You
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I agree, let’s see what they’ve been hiding.
New to posting, hadn’t seen this information hit the site yet. You’ll have to scroll to find the translation of your choice, suggest if you’re short on time you read through the conclusion section.
Interesting. The Bible quite clearly describes the existence of demons, and the encounters of Jesus and his disciples with them. Yet there is nary a mention of them in the modern church. Almost as if they were trying to hide their existence.
Well, I think it’s because they don’t want people to figure out what they really are.
