Ha! In this case, it's sloppy work on my part. Here's the text I was thinking of when I wrote that, and clearly I wasn't thinking, uh, clearly:

In her free time, Stewart was an avid runner. She frequently posted photos from road races on social media, including from the TCS New York City Marathon, which she ran in November, and the Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race, which she ran last month.

It's easy to think of 10 miles as "not that much distance" when you're in shape, but running competitions take a lot of endurance and stamina, also technique but irrelevant to the point: her cardiovascular system would have been in good shape from that training.
