Israel is about to be blamed for assassinating a foreign states president which will kick off a regional war in which America will not protect them as retribution for trying to run a color revolution against PDJT.

Couple this episode with Stefani's remarks in Tel Aviv to the Israeli Knesset (their parliament), and I'm thinking downing the Iranian President's helo was a joint effort between US and Israel, in an effort to o drum up more warhawk support for whatever's coming next.
I think you're a bit ahead of the curve here fren. Most of us are still absorbing the basic facts of the situation and you've already got some good research assembled.

So far it looks like FNM is reporting the crash as "accidental", claiming the heli went down in "heavy fog".

They're always "accidental" that's the point.
One does wonder why they would chance flying the President through "heavy fog" in "a mountainous region" unless they were sure they could do so safely. It definitely has an eerie feel to it, like they're getting their proverbial ducks in a row before they respond.
We called that Cumulo Granite, the tendency of mountains to hide in cloudbanks and reach out to smite passing aircraft.
Visions of warring mountains from LotR come to mind, but swatting at aircraft vs attempting to dispatch hobbits and dwarves.
