Congrats on hitting 30 years! I started in 92 so I hit 32 this year. Started out on Slackware installed by floppies, and also used the first live CD (came in the back of a book) called Yggdrasil.
Saw you recommended Ubuntu Mate. What's funny is I just recommended the same on another one of these threads.
If you tell me you also used an AT&T 3B2 or a Sperry/Unisys mainframe at work we could be lost brothers.
Amdahl 470 in college ---- punch cards ---- we actually wrote a working airline route optimization program (stone age by today's standards). Back when computer time got charged by the second.
Oh, yeah, I remember those days!
I booted Yggdrasil a few times ---- started with slackware -----> debian -----> ubuntu
A bunch of others along the way ----- for me, .deb proved to be more stable than .rpm.
Ian Murdoch did not kill himself.
