Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Does anyone here shop Victoria's Secret for their wife or themselves?
Feel pretty good, just got my wife 3 shirts And three pieces of lingerie. Lots of the items show a discount of 17.76 after two $20 coupons online
We shopped in the store earlier too Two pairs of shorts, another shirt, two panties, and a fragrance mist for $8 cash
I did for about twenty years until I sized out of the bras. Back then they were the best quality for the price. I don’t know the quality of today’s items. They were not cheap but good prices if you shopped sales. They have a big sale in the summer. They used to give $10.00 to $100.00 gift cards a few times a year with online purchases. I got two $100.00 gift cards and bought my daughter uggs. I’m normally not that lucky.
As much as I can say, this company is woke, and also has a lot of questionable ownership…. That being said, I highly recommend bras from Victoria’s Secret, and many of their other products. I’ve bought bras from there over 10 years ago, and they’re still in pristine condition. They are outlasting any other undergarments that I purchased 10 years ago. I spent quite a bit of money there buying bras for two of my goddaughters, and they still have theirs as well. I also purchased other garments, like pajama shorts and tops stuff like that. And they’re still in pristine condition and they don’t have all those little ballies or pills - that buildup on cheap fabric. My garments have lasted so long. I haven’t had to shop there in a long time. I’m sure your wife will be pleased with the garments that you chose for her. To be honest I’m shocked at the prices being so low, I thought by now they would’ve gone up in price so you did really well. Congrats. 👏👏👏
Edit: for the record… I’m not the stereotypical petite Victoria’s Secret model. I had no problem, finding items to fit myself.
While the deals are nice, the company is woke. It's also one of the L Brands owned by Les Wexner, billionaire benefactor who helped get Jeffrey Epstein started in his "career."
Beyond that, when I shopped there long ago, their business practices were horrible. I could write quite a bit calling them out for various things, including perpetuating stereotypes and promoting poor sizing. Decrease your band size and increase your cup size, ladies--most of us were lied to.
Bra sizing has been hijacked by companies like VS which only produce the most common sizes in vast quantities, then have their fitters offer you a "sister size" when your measurements don't fall into their ranges.
As it turns out, a 32D does not fit the same as a 30E, for example. While the cup volume is the same, the band size throws the fit off. And sizes like 30E, 32F, and 34G are not unusual measurements--they are just uncommon sizes to find in mass produced quantity.
