The U.S. Army would finally be facing a formidable enemy they haven't faced since World War II .
We didn't fight Russia in WW2. They were a part of the Allied Forces.
We haven't directly engaged Russia in over a hundred years, and even then it was intervention into their own conflicts.
Following what we seem to know about Ukraine, we would be siding with said enemy from World War 2.
That's why I said "a formidable enemy" instead of "the formidable enemy."
If I was referring to the formidable enemy, it would be the German Army.
As we had several enemies in the war, "a formidable enemy since" can read as "any of the enemies from that war", but it can also read as that too.
Frankly I just wanted an excuse to lambast the U.S. and NATO for supporting the Nazis.
Also, there were a few people on Patriots that did not actually know that Russia was a part of the Allies, and that has stayed with me haha.
I knew that Russia was one of our allies back in WWII. I also know that at the end of the war, the allied forces were racing to get to Hitler's nuclear secrets before the Russians got there.
Yes WW2 was a horrible war but

Much as US fought some, in WW2, they have no idea IMO.
Just to be pedantic, Britain was at war with Russia after WW1 ended. The British Army in the middle east had to stop the Red Army from getting into the mid east from 1918 onwards, the Brits penetrated far into Russia to stop this.It was won by air power, Russia had next to no aircraft but the RAF did.
