They didn't get that way overnight, sure, blame everything but the parents or Mom who is doing the meals and cooking. You have children, you carry them in your body, warnings about high carbs have been around for at least 25 years, warnings about junk food too. Low income? No excuse. Yes, carbs do make a meal stretch, but it doesn't have to be in the form of stove top stuffing and mountain dew. Riding your bike all summer and running around the backyard playing tag or ball, just running around, kids used to do that, recess was a bunch of wild animals letting off steam. Now you see a lot of droopy kids waiting to use their phones. My Dad used to say "in the future the only thing that will have muscles is the hand and fingers for pushing buttons", and he was an audio tech and ham operator! Yeah, we had dessert. It was Jello 9 times out of 10, chips were for the July 4th cookout, snacks were after school, not all day long, Okay I will stop, I am boomering.
this is true about parents but if we look at the climate around food, everybody has been deceived on how toxic it all is. Parents don't know. I can barely find foods that are healthy except pure meat or vegetables, and even that has the GMO aspect as well as any pesticides
I know. I live near a good market that stocks from local organic farms, I am very lucky, even though Vermont is a blue state, those small farms are dedicated to organic and building good soil to grow in.. it costs more, but I can make it last by making my own soups and casseroles from real food. I can't think about eating 3 meals a day, breakfast is always eggs, (I raise chickens for eggs) or whole oats. Lunch is unheard of, I'll eat a cuke or an apple with some cheese mid day, and suppers are often soups or casseroles made with rice or potatos. Any cheap cut of meat can be cooked right, and adding onions and garlic makes anything taste well. Sugar is a habit, nobody is born needing a lot of it, yet it's a major commodity so they put it in everything to keep you hooked.
