This is actually interesting. I wonder if they allow notes to refute actual fake news like X does.
YouTube is looking to combat misinformation on its platform by allowing notes to be added to videos that will add context, similar to the feature found on the X social media platform. Some examples the company provides are, “notes that clarify when a song is meant to be a parody, point out when a new version of a product being reviewed is available, or let viewers know when older footage is mistakenly portrayed as a current event.
Well if the notes are allowed to be made by users then it would return some power to pepe hands.
Certainly, using Ai to recognize old footage, would eliminate some fake news. Already, 'old' footage is recognized by autists, who throw it in some software, or easily recognize it themselves, and do a wee search to find the previous footage, within minutes in places like this, and /pol.
Parody content, on the other hand, will be harder to recognize via algos, because it involves sarcasm. THAT would need human input, and not from some ideologically driven mod-bot in a youtube office. It would be too great a task.
So, due to my estimation that AI is a scam, just a computer programme, I think they will have to allow 'content' comments from users, to 'train' the AI. LOL
Am stocking up on popcorn, as the 'notes', especially at first, will be the most interesting content.
I think I can still post comments on YouTube but I cannot post replies to other people's comments. It always reports a strange error, adds my reply to the total reply count but completely hides the text.
Maybe all my replies are misinformation and I just don't know?
...and we're the false info, right.
hopefully brave browser introduces a feature to block this crap as well
Does that mean Youtube is "up to date" on its BOOSTERS?
