I need to learn more about that history.
However, I would say the Christian crusaders were probably guilty of similar.
Ultimately identity politics (or using group identity) is a poor way of judging a person. That’s what was so revolutionary about Christ’s teaching - individual freedom, individual responsibility. Everyone’s suffering is unique to them, so you have to fractionate group identity (and power, freedom, and responsibility) down to the level of the individual.
Wrong.
You need to delve more into the REAL reasons for the crusades then that revisionist bullshit taught to everyone, movies included.
In short, it was because the Muslims had invaded Europe and were killing Christians for some 300 years under thier rule. When they began another push, it was Rome who called out to all Christians from lord to peasant to fight the invaders out of Europe.
Europeans didn't just get a hair up thier asses one day and decide to go kick Muslim butt's for fun "in the name of God"...it was because of centuries of abuse, slavery, and slaughter that enough was finally enough.
Here's a very good 14 minute synopsis of how and why it all happened : https://youtu.be/6aFkoX6g1fE
There are much longer lectures filling in tons of extra info, but that vid gives a real and concise historical lesson. All of them are in synch with the real facts, however.
How the vatican created Islam: https://johnnycirucci.com/ex-jesuit-priest-alberto-rivera-reveals-how-the-vatican-created-islam/
Well aware fren. Can't drop too much at one time on those that don't know. 👊👍
Here lately I can't help myself I'm ready to burst! So many lies believed for so many centuries 😭
Yup. Crusades were defense, not offense.
Please note that the "Christian," crusaders first sacked and slaughtered Christian Constantinople before ever stepping foot inside the Holy Land, which set the stage for the Moslems to shortly conquer the citadel of Eastern Christianity.
But that's another story. It's a deep and tangled tale of political intrigue, and takes much effort to get to the crux of it all.
Agreed. My point is, no one has a monopoly on “virtue” - and some people lazily slap labels on billions because of their religion.
The beauty of Christ’s gospel was: individual freedom, individual responsibility (among many other things). Your “group” does not define you. You do.
