There’s a host of potential solutions. The problem being whether we have the political will to actually implement them.
As many of them would quite fundamentally fly in the face of the predominant trends of political thinking on both the Left and Right. Western Europe would probably have an easier time implementing such policies though as they still have some sense of a uniting Culture and shared History dating back in some cases millennia
The U.S is a lot more divided at fairly fundamental levels. And has a far deeper obsession with sometimes somewhat contradictory political ideas. In part due somewhat to the national political inheritance of the enlightenment ideals that were channeled in our founding documents. And it’s fair to say much of the history we do share, as taught in schools, is somewhat artificial versions of the real events. Deliberately recorded in ways that promote National Unity. Versus for historical accuracy.
Much to the chagrin and anger of some Modern elements of the American political spectrum. Who eternally detest things like the Lionization of Abraham Lincoln.
