Ideally something:
Free to watch because I am a cheap bastard (will pay if its a REALLY good one)
Something interesting, like you watched it and learned things you didn't already know
Something that goes into the military strategy of the war and how it was won
And/or something that will make you feel good about the county (not that I don't, just something to make you realize how badass the founders were)
Thanks!
John Adams, the seven part series by David McCullough is outstanding. I enjoyed it all and learned a lot. I bought the DVD on Ebay for 7$. Well worth it. Good stuff.
this isn't a 'documentary', but it's definitely educational. think the Mount Vernon website & channel are WH operations to teach us actual history. I've learned So much, has been worthwhile.

It is my opinion that White Hats have removed nearly all of the Founding and Revolutionary War content. I used to watch them endlessly for many years and now they are all gone. The Adams series is good but other than one other which I can't recall there is no longer any content on the Founders or the Revolutionary War. I believe the White Hats are trying to keep us from getting worked up watching these documentaries.
Library. Books, including audio books and free downloading, movies and documentaries. If your local Library does not have the one you are interested in, you can ask them to find one through the LIL ( Library inter loan)
Patriot is the only one
There's a very well done, multi-disc docu-drama called 'John Adams' (played by Paul Giamatti).
Takes you through pre-war build-up, the actual war, and post war all the way up to Adams' death.
Extremely thorough and very entertaining.
on HBO, love it!
