I have found this too.. but i must stress that even some adults shouldn't have to see it, some people can be changed for life, and their light shine less bright or go out permanently. Mine shone dimmer as i went closer to further my knowledge of evil.. until it almost went out. By that point i had discovered the evil side is a bottomless pit of blackness that should not be tempted. While there i saw people falling over the edge ruining themselves forever. They wanted to be strong in evil. At that point i was weak from seeing so much evil.. but it allowed me to fling back to reach highs of good that i had not yet attained.. including being one of the rare few of humankind to have see God's face.
I watched a few things that I immediately "regretted", because it filled me with a tremendous rage that I had to walk through for quite some time after that.
In that walk, I had to separate righteous anger from vengeful rage and try to get back to the place of loving the person while hating the sin.
It sucked - and as you said, my light was very dim during that period - replaced with absolute rage.
I'm not sure everyone finds their way back - and it never gets easier every time I click on a video that I shouldn't have.
I'm convinced that if that's where we set out to walk initially, there won't be any reason to try another path. As long as we get there at some point, that's a win.

Only because of Jesus was I able to walk back.
